The Shiva Trilogy of Books comprises of three books, namely The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas and The Oath of the Vayuputras. This trilogy of books has been written by an Indian author, Amish Tripathi and has gone on to become best-sellers within a short amount of time of time.

The introductory book in the trilogy, The Immortals of Meluha, was initial published in 2010 and the second part, The Secret of the Nagas, in 2011. The author is presently working on the story of the last and final portion of this mystical trilogy called The Oath of the Vayuputras which is expected to be freed in 2012.

The Shiva Trilogy is a tale of epic adventure and is set in the ancient world of Meluha. Meluha is a land of successfulness and piece where all humans live in concordance with others and with nature. The entire civilization is based on the principle of Lord Rama and the people living here are his descendents known as the Suryavanshis or People of the Sun. The only dark spot in all of Meluha is that they are constantly attacked by their evil neighbors, The Chandravanshis, who have enlisted the aid of the terrorist tribe, The Nagas, to vanquish them.

The Immortals of Meluha, the primary part in the Shiva Trilogy, introduces us to the main protagonist of the series, a simple warrior tribesman known as Shiva. Initially reluctant to leave his homeland, Shiva arrives at Meluha and falls in love with the perfective nature of life there and only after sometime discovers that he has a more spectacular part to play in the fate of Meluha.

Shiva soon discovers that he has been chosen by the Gods to end the war among the Suryavanshis and the Chandravanshis and to stop the attacks of the dreaded Naga warriors. Shiva also falls in love with the gorgeous Meluhan princess Sati, who initially fails to reciprocate his love for her but later, relents and also foils the terrorist attacks of the Nagas.

The second part in the Shiva Trilogy series, titled The Secret of the Nagas, has just been freed and has already gone on to become a best-seller due to the massive hype and strong retail that took place before it is launch. This book will take off from where the Immortals of Meluha left and will further disclose interesting facts regarding Meluha, Shiva, Sati and the Nagas.

Littlefoot hears the story of a legendary dinosaur that defended the land years before and is praised by the mysterious land form known as Saurus Rock. When a strange brontosaurus named Doc wanders through town, Littlefoot is convinced he is the legend. Same old fare: earthshakes, mean old “sharptooths” (T-Rexes), lots of screaming, and a lesson learned. Only three songs. The greatest surprise is Kris Kristofferson as the voice of Doc. –Doug Thomas

My 3 year old loves this movie and I think it’s great too. It’s safe, non-violent entertainment and has some great songs. You can watch this movie with your child and talk about it. Good lessons on prejudice. I heartily recommend it.

Six films and this series is still going strong.

Why is everybody so concerned about the quality of the animation in these films? Personally I’m glad that, unlike the makers of trash such as the new Godzilla or Lost World, the creators of the Land Before Time films devote their time to coming up with excellent, inventive plots such as the one in this sixth installment.

Littlefoot and friends discover the legend of the Lone Dinosaur (as in the Lone Ranger) is more real than anyone around him realises.

The Land Before Time – 2 Mysteries…

Purchased this item for my grandson (2 1/2 yrs.) who is obsessed with dinosaurs. He loves the Land Before Time series and sings along with all the songs. This is an age appropriate series for toddlers/pre-school. Teaches good behavior and problem solving. Would recommend.
