This workout is derived from Sara’s “Fit Momma” stroller workout classes in San Diego. It has worked for dozens of postpartum moms already! ReviewMulti-tasking: Everybody’s doing it. So when Sara Holliday proposes that new moms combine pushing the baby in a stroller with a cardio and toning workout, there’s not one thing farfetched regarding it, even though the sight of a person doing walking lunges while pushing a stroller may distract and amuse passersby. Holliday, an aerobics instructor with training in martial arts and yoga, developed the Stroller Workout a few years ago when attempting to get back into shape after giving birth to her son. She then begun instructing the workout at her fitness studio in San Diego. The premise of the video, however, is that you don’t need to stay inside to get the gains of a total workout. You may spend time outside with the baby, enjoying a stroll in the park or your neighborhood while exercising to regain (or improve) your pre-pregnancy level of fitness. Push that stroller, Mama. Kick, lunge, squat. Walk fast. Jog. Sweat. Of course, most moms don t have a DVD player mounted on the baby’s stroller, so you’re supposed to watch the video at home to get intimate with the program before performing it outdoors. When you do leave the house, you work out to an audio version on CD. The video features 40 minutes of the stroller workout, plus 10 minutes of lower-body work and 10 minutes of yoga stretchings (you may want to take along a yoga mat for these). While none of the movements is complex, new mothers may find the workout a test of endurance at first. But endurance will come if they stick with the program. Holliday proposes doing the workout three times a week for best results. The procedure is structured in intervals of walking or jogging, walking lunges and stopping for squats, kicks, triceps dips and pushups. Holliday, whose video is shot in a park, assumes the exerciser will likewise be in a park, and so recommends using park benches as help for dips and pushups. ReviewThe Bottom Line This workout is a outstanding choice for new moms who are ready to commence exercising. The workout is easy to follow and includes intervals of walking, jogging, kickboxing, lower body moves and upper body exercises all done outside (or inside) without any instrumentation needed. This is a great way to get in shape and exercise with your baby. Pros – An progressed interval workout for moms – The circuit-type workout is easy to follow and combines cardio and strength moves – A outstanding way to workout outdoors with your kids – Includes an audio CD you may take with you and use outside Cons – The audio quality isn’t always great and it’s at times hard to listen her Description – The DVD takes exercisers through a 40-min circuit routine that may be done while pushing a stroller – The workout alternates amidst cardio (walking/jogging) and strength moves like lunges and pushups – Modifications are given to move the workout indoors if necessitated and an audio CD is included as well – The workout ends with a short toning segment and numerous comforting stretchings Guide Review – Sara Holliday’s Stroller Workout for Moms You don’t need a stroller to do this workout but, if you’re a mom who’d like to exercise more intensely while taking the baby for a walk, you’ll take delight in this workout. The workout is filmed outside at the Mission Trails Regional Park in San Diego which provides a lovely view that most video workouts are lacking. It doesn’t have the slick video production like other videos and, while some users might find this distracting, I find it refreshing. The only problem with this type of production is that the audio is a bit hard to listen at times. Sara does the entire workout in a little area, so you won’t need much room, and she includes a division on modifications so you may do the workout indoors as well. The workout starts with a basic warm up, pushing the stroller and walking. You carry on from there into a series of intervals that substitute amidst cardio (wal –About.com

Awesome Workout for Moms!! By MaryJane Archer Sara’s stroller workout is awesome! I have worked-out my entire life and after I had my twins I just didn’t have the time I used to spend at the gym to get my workout in! The workout is challenging and fun, and I love being able to get a total body workout in one session. I highly recommend this to any busy parent that has the desire to lose weight, feel good about themselves, and look great with exercise!

A Little Cheesy By Etta Gibson If you are brand new to fitness this video may be great for you, but if you exercise on a regular basis and are just looking for something new you may find it a little cheesy! A lot of the same repetitve moves and the instructor doesnt even seem to have a real “little one” with her. Too easy and simple for me…need more of a challenge. Also a lot of times she was “off beat” with the music and that drives me nuts! haha
